Solvil et Titus was founded in 1887 by Paul Ditisheim, a very well known watchmaker and inventor in the Swiss watch industry in his time. After his retirement in 1929, Solvil et Titus was handed to Paul-B Vogel, a Swiss industrialist and chairman of the Salon Montres et Bijoux (the Watch and Jewelry's Fair), the most prestigious association of Swiss watch manufacturers and jewelers of the time. Between 1950 and 1970, as the watch market was rapidly growing the Société des Garde-Temps SA (SGT) was founded , and Solvil et Titus became one of the most important members of this group.
