Ollech & Wajs Early Bird ref. 2834 first released in 1965, featuring a 24h dial but an AM/PM red/blue bezel too, so it could display two timezones at a glance.
Established in the '50s, Ollech & Wajs specialized in military divers and automatic timepieces and the Early Bird was a typical example of their work:
"This precision watch is specially designed for airline and military personel, for pilots, world travelers, divers, sportsmen etc. Its hour hand makes one revolution in 24 hours. By means of its revolving bezel and its hour hand, your watch shows clearly and stimultaneously the time, A.M. or P.M. in any two timezones on earth".
This particular Early Bird has a sharp case, a flawless black 24h dial and was just serviced (August of 2021)
Bezel shows signs from use, but no dings or deep marks.
Original hour, minute and seconds hands, with original patinated lume.
Unmarked crystal.
Replaced stem and crown (original crown comes with the watch).
Note that even though the caseback is in great condition there are two initials marked on it.
The watch passed the pressure test, but I would advise to keep vintage watches away from water nevertheless!
One year warranty on the movement comes with the watch as with all of my watches.
