Many military issued (2179/2 and 2179/3 mainly) and civilian ref2179 variations made by Omega in the mid 40s, all sharing the same 35mm steel case and 30T2 center seconds movement.
On offer is a 1944-47 Omega 2179/5 (Civilian) timepiece in completely original condition.
Steel case still sharp, in very good condition, with surface signs of its age but no major hits or signs of corrosion anywhere.
Original and seldom seen dial, turning to a "tropical" honey-copper colour, mentaining its radium markers, and radium numerals. A real nightmare to show the true beautiful hue this dial has through the lense!!
Original silver coloured hour and minute hands and blue seconds hand. Hour and minute hands freshly relumed by one of the best in this craft, as most of the original material had deteriorated.

Rhodium plated cal 30T2 SC Omega movement, in excellent condition and just serviced (March 2020), with the retaining ring intact and still in place, has the 1034xxxx serial number indicating production in 1944-47.
Comes with a brand new brown coloured 18mm leather strap and a special two-watch leather roll by #abitspoilt.
